From a small workshop in Richmond Hill, we draw, joint, and finish saunas for homes across the Greater Toronto Area. No two are alike. Each is shaped to the space it lives in and the person who'll step inside.
The four commitments
i.
On design
Drawn, not assembled
Every project begins on paper. We don't sell kits, configurations, or catalogues.
ii.
On material
Wood that ages well
Western Red Cedar and thermally treated softwoods, chosen for their grain and longevity.
iii.
On place
Rooted in the GTA
Toronto, Vaughan, Markham, Oakville. We know the climate and the building codes.
iv.
On service
One studio, start to finish
Concept, fabrication, install, and the years after. One team, one number to call.
The founders
Founder i.
Roman Co-founder
I'm Roman, co-founder of ThermaCraft. Growing up in Eastern Europe, sauna wasn't a spa thing. It was just Tuesday. You went with family, you sweated, you talked, you felt better. That's the standard I carry with me.
Before ThermaCraft, I spent years running high-end landscaping and construction projects across the GTA. I learned early that the difference between something good and something great usually comes down to whether someone actually cared enough to get it right.
That's what ThermaCraft is about for me. Outdoor wellness spaces built the way they should be: solid, considered, and actually worth using. I stay involved from start to finish, not because I don't trust the process, but because I do care how it turns out.

Alex Co-founder
I'm Alex, co-founder of ThermaCraft. I'm a strong believer in the importance of sports, health, nutrition, and mental well-being.
I firmly believe that unlocking our full potential lies in prioritizing our mental health, relaxation, reflection, and taking the time to understand our true nature.
We founded ThermaCraft to help communities discover their best selves, promote mental health care, and support recovery through deep immersion experiences.

ThermaCraft — Our Process
Our Process
The method№ 004 — From call to install
How we work
Four steps, one quiet process.
From the first conversation to the years after install, every project moves through the same considered sequence. No surprises, no upselling — just a clear path from idea to ritual.
The sequence
Step i.
01
The consultation
We visit your space, listen to how you want to live in it, and take precise measurements.
~ 60 minutes, on site
Step ii.
02
The design
Tailored plans, material samples, and full 3D renders — so you see the space before we build it.
~ 2 — 4 weeks
Step iii.
03
The build
Crafted in our Richmond Hill workshop, installed on schedule, with weekly updates throughout.
~ 6 — 10 weeks
Step iv.
04
The aftercare
A walkthrough, a warranty, and a number to call when something needs adjusting — for years after install.
Ongoing
In short
From first call to first steam — roughly two to three months.
Most projects start with the same handful of questions. Here are the honest answers, and what we'd want to know if we were on your side of the conversation.
Common questions
No. 01
How much does a custom sauna cost?
Indoor builds typically start in the mid five figures and scale with size, materials, and integration complexity. Outdoor standalone projects start higher. The structure itself is a building, plus foundation, utilities, and (often) landscaping. Every project receives a fixed quote after the consultation, with no surprises after that.
No. 02
How long does the whole process take?
From first call to first steam, roughly two to three months for indoor builds, and three to five for outdoor projects involving permits and landscaping. Detailed timelines are part of every quote.
No. 03
Do I need a permit?
For outdoor saunas, almost always, and we handle the application process as part of the build. For indoor saunas, requirements vary by municipality. We'll confirm during consultation and take care of any necessary filings.
No. 04
What's the difference between traditional and infrared?
Traditional saunas use a heater and stones to warm the air, producing a higher-temperature, more immersive experience, the kind the Finns have practiced for centuries. Infrared cabins heat the body more directly at lower air temperatures. We build traditional. If you're looking for infrared, we can point you elsewhere.
No. 05
Can you fit a sauna into a small space?
Often, yes. We've built two-person saunas into closets, ensuites, and nooks under stairs. The minimum usable footprint is about 4 by 4 feet. If the space exists, it usually has potential.
No. 06
How much maintenance is required?
Less than people expect. Regular use, a soft brush-down after each session, and a thorough cleaning a few times a year. The wood ages beautifully on its own. We provide a care guide with every install.
No. 07
Do you offer a warranty?
Yes. A multi-year warranty on workmanship and structure, plus manufacturer warranties on heater units and electronics. We also remain available for adjustments, repairs, and questions for years after install. A real number, a real person.
No. 08
Can the sauna be used year-round?
Yes, and honestly, that's when most people enjoy them the most. Our saunas are built for Canadian winters and designed to perform comfortably in every season.
No. 09
Do you offer cold plunges and other wellness features?
We do. Many clients want more than just a sauna, so we also build cold plunges, outdoor showers, lounge areas, pergolas, lighting, and other custom wellness additions.
No. 10
Can I control the sauna from my phone?
In many cases, yes. We offer smart controls and Wi-Fi-enabled systems that allow you to manage temperature, lighting, and timing remotely.
No. 11
What kind of wood do you use?
We use high-quality sauna-grade wood selected for durability, appearance, and long-term performance in heat and moisture. The right material makes a major difference in both aesthetics and longevity.
No. 12
Do you help with the design before construction?
Yes. Every project starts there. We work with you to create something that fits the space properly and feels like a natural extension of your home or backyard, rather than something simply placed into it.
No. 13
Can you build indoor saunas too?
Definitely. We build both indoor and outdoor saunas depending on your space and lifestyle. Indoor saunas are especially popular in basements, home gyms, and primary bathrooms.
Still wondering
Have a question we haven't answered? Ask us directly. We'd rather have the conversation.
Every project starts with a conversation. About the space, the way you want to use it, the heat you remember from somewhere else. No commitment. No quotes by email. Just a real talk with the people who'll build it.
Not the photo on the day it's finished, but how it sits in the household twelve months later.
